Start with the forklift data plate
Record the forklift make, full model and serial number exactly as shown. Include the engine model when the request involves filters, cooling, fuel, ignition or internal-engine components. A clear photograph of the whole plate helps prevent transcription errors.
Copy every number from the part
Photograph and write down stamped, cast, engraved or labelled numbers. Keep letters, spaces, dashes and suffixes: a final letter can identify a different revision or fitment. If several numbers appear, send all of them rather than choosing one.
Take photos that show context and detail
- One wider photo showing where the part fits on the forklift.
- Front, back and side views of the removed part where practical.
- Close-ups of plugs, pins, bolt holes, hose ports and labels.
- A ruler or vernier measurement beside critical dimensions.
Describe the job
State the quantity, which side of the machine is involved, the symptom or damage, whether the forklift is stopped, and the delivery suburb or postcode. For paired components, say whether you need the left, right or both.
